Ferdinand advised Manchester United to go all out for Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel

Manchester United

Former defender Rio Ferdinand has asked Manchester United to take advantage of Chelsea’s current situation and snatch Thomas Tuchel away from Stamford Bridge.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new permanent manager. Meanwhile, Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag and PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino are reportedly the leading candidates to take charge at Old Trafford next season. Meanwhile, Spain boss Luis Enrique and Julian Lopetegui are also linked with a move to the record Premier League champions.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel Five(via The Chelsea Chronicles). Ferdinand has stated that Manchester United should go all out for Thomas Tuchel. The ex-defender said:

“I’m taking Tuchel man, I don’t care. If the roles were reversed and Man United were there and had Tuchel as a sitting duck at our football club. We are presuming he’s a sitting duck from the reports we are hearing. If that was the case and the roles were reversed, trust me, Roman and the empire would knock down the door.

“They wouldn’t even knock down the door, they’d run round the side and take him. Tuchel would be the one. He’s got the pedigree. He’s shown already that he can come into this league, he’s adapted straight away, he’s won the Champions League, he can galvanise a squad, he can get them playing. He can create a culture, create a togetherness. He’s got discipline.”

Can Manchester United lure Thomas Tuchel?

Thomas Tuchel will be a great acquisition for Manchester United. However, it will not be easy for the Red Devils’ hierarchy to snatch the German boss away from the Blues’ grasp.

So, the record Premier League champions should not waste their time in persuading the former PSG man. Switching their focus on the other options will be a shrewd decision.

Meanwhile, Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is open to accepting the proposal from Manchester United. And the Dutchman has showcased enough managerial prowess in the Netherlands capital to earn a move to the big club.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino could also be a good fit for Manchester United. However, the Argentine will be a bit more expensive for the Red Devils. Given the former Tottenham boss is still in contract with the Ligue 1 giants.
