My First Fantasy Premier League Draft:

Picking the first draft of this season:

draft pick

However difficult selecting a team may be at the start of the season it is one of the most exciting parts of fantasy football.

Goal-Keeper picks for Fantasy Premier League:

Selecting a good goalkeeper who can give us a full season with a good amount of clean sheets and points is very important. However, the most important thing is the number of matches that the goalkeeper remains consistent..

Top Picks for goalkeepers:

Emiliano Martinez: The former Arsenal shot-stopper is in top form conceding just two goals in the whole Copa America competition and was one of the key reasons of Argentina winning the Copa America. Moreover, last season Martinez scored the highest points among all goalkeepers keeping 15 clean sheets just behind Chelsea’s Eduoard Mendy and Manchester City’s Ederson Moraes.

Price – 5.5m

Points Last Season – 186

Clean Sheets – 15

Points/Game – 4.9

Illan Meslier: The Leeds shot-stopper scored 154 points only behind Ederson and Martinez, Also is guaranteed the first choice thus making him a very good option for the long season and also can act as a very good rotation option for Martinez.

Price – 5.0m

Points Last Season – 154

Clean Sheets – 11

Points/Game- 4.4

Other potential Options: Gollini 4.5m (Tottenham), Guaita 4.5m (Crystal Palace), Bachman 4.5m (Watford) can also be considered as potential for rotation with Martinez

Defender picks for Fantasy Premier League:

Selecting defenders comes next in which we must select defenders who can provide us frequent clean sheets, Moreover to clean sheets comes the main part is providing attacking returns.

Benjamin Chillwel: The former foxes full back had an amazing season helping Chelsea winning the UEFA Champions League. Though he did not score the highest points but has the highest points/game among the defenders. Chilwell managed only 2286 minutes (25 games), but with Alonso linked with Inter there is very good chance of Chilwell getting 3000+ minutes this season (30 games).

Price – 6.0m

Points Last season – 139

Clean Sheets – 12

Points/Game- 5.1

Trent Alexander Arnold: The right back had set back in the starting of the league last year but managed to recover from it very well in the closing games of the season. Even in not so good season compared to his previous perfomance he managed to grab 8 assists. With the return of their main center-back Virgil Van Dijk which will give more freedom to Trent to play high.

Price – 7.5m

Points Last season – 160

Clean Sheets – 12

Points/Game – 4.2

Joel Veltman: The seagulls full back is one of the top options to have on bench though had only around 98 points and with Lamptey injured there is a very good chance that Veltman will be getting more minutes and has good run of fixtures not facing any top six sides in the first five game weeks.

Price – 4.5m

Points Last season – 96

Clean Sheets – 9

Points/Game – 3.4

Kieran Tierney: The Scottish full-back is a one to watch with the arrival of Ben White he will have more freedom going up. Though he had a wonderful start to the season last year his glory was cut short due to a severe injury that he suffered. However what is appealing in making Tierney is the run of fixtures for eleven game-weeks only facing Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City as the top six sides.

Price – 5.0m

Points Last season – 96

Clean Sheets – 8

Points/Game – 3.6

John Stones: The English centre-back rediscovered his form last season and formed a formidable partnership with Ruben Dias. Though only managed 20 games but repaid the faith of fantasy premier league managers whenever called upon.

Price – 5.5m

Points Last season – 128

Clean Sheets – 14

Points/Game – 5.8

Other potential picks: Lucas Digne 5.5m (Everton), Lewis Dunk 5.0m (Brighton), Matthew Lowton 4.5m (Burnley)

Midfielder picks for Fantasy Premier League:

Mohammed Salah: The Egyptian King has always been consistent since he arrived at Liverpool scoring almost 20+ goals in every season for Liverpool. He also has managed to get the highest shots inside the box for any player in the league last season. He is a premium pick which is a must-have for FPL managers.

Price – 12.5m

Points Last season – 231

Points/Game – 6.2

Goals – 22, Assists – 6

Harvey Barnes: The foxes midfielder though managed only around 20 games last season, had an amazing start to the season and went on to face injury which led to a big blow to Leicester and also affected them in the race for top 4.

Price – 7.0m

Points Last Season – 126

Ponits/Game – 5

Goals- 9, Assists- 5

Said Benrahma: Drawing comparisons to Riyad Mahrez the Algerian winger is one to watch had an amazing pre-season till now. Benrahma wasn’t much effective last season managing only 15 games and coming mostly from the bench. However, since there is no Lingard now there are really good chances that Benrahma become a key player for West Ham and will get regular minutes under David Moyes

Price – 6.0m

Points Last Season – 73

Points/Game – 2.4

Goals- 1, Assists- 6

Callum Hudson Odoi: The blues academy star started well under Thomas Tuchel winning two back to back MOTM in a row but later on struggled to get regular minutes with Reece James or Azpilicuetta getting nod over Hudson Odoi as a wing-back. In pre-season games, Callum Hudson Odoi has been used frequently as wing-back so there is a chance he might get a chance over veteran Cesar Azpilicuetta and James being a part of back three as a right-sided-centre-back.

Price – 5.5m

Points Last Season – 59

Points/Game – 2.6

Goals- 2, Assists- 3

Bryan Mbeumo: The Brentford midfielder managed to get only 8 goals last season but was a key player in the play-offs which helped Brentford secure the top flight in English football for the first time. He played as a striker partnering with Ivan Toney in 3-5-2 formation we could see the same in Premier League this time around. Brentford is attacking so there will be plenty of chances for both Ivan Toney and Mbeumo to grab.

Price – 5.5m

Goals- 8, Assists- 10

Other Potential Picks: Kevin De Bruyne 12m (Man City), Ilkay Gundagon 7.5m (Man City), Hakim Ziyech 7.5m (Chelsea), Bruno Fernandes 12m (Man Utd)

Forward Picks for Fantasy Premier League:

Patrick Bamford: The ex-Chelsea striker had a fantastic season with Leeds managing 17 goals and 11 assists in 34 games, the most shocking part was that he was listed at just 5.5m at the start of last season though his price has increased to 8.0m this season he is still a player worth having as he was having the highest number of shots in the box last season only behind Salah. The thing that makes him attractive is that he is even on penalty duties.

Price – 8.0m

Points Last Season – 194 ( Only Behind Harry Kane among Forwards )

Points/Game – 5.1

Goals- 17, Assists- 11

Ollie Watkins: The former Brentford man had a hit and miss season last year but still managed 14 goals and 9 assists, now with the arrival of Ings at Aston Villa he could form an amazing partnership with Danny Ings. The departure of Grealish is a factor to be considered who was a key player behind Aston Villa’s performance last season but Emi Buendia is brought in to add creativity to the Aston Villa side who was Championship Player of the Season and a key factor in bringing Norwich back to Premier League.

Price – 7.5m

Points Last season – 168

Points/Game – 4.5

Goals -14, Assists – 9

Joao Pedro: The 19 old striker only managed 9 goals but is a player to watch, he is very skilful and is very good at finishing. He also managed to get 38 games in Championship

Price – 5.5m

Goals- 9, Assists- 2

Other Potential forward options: Iheanacho 7.5m (Leicester City), Callum Wilson 7.5m (Newcastle United)
