Aston Villa is one of the teams that are keeping tabs on Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher. There is uncertainty about his future this season.

There have been reports that claim that the young Englishman could be picked up by Aston Villa. The East Midlands team is looking for adding another midfielder after they signed Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old who spent the previous season on loan at Crystal Palace is still slated to start the coming season under Thomas Tuchel in a Chelsea shirt.

However, there is also a suggestion that he can make a move if he is not given enough game time at Stamford Bridge.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke spoke about Gallagher’s reported move to Villa to Football FanCast.

He said,” I think we saw what Conor Gallagher provided for Crystal Palace last year. He was probably one of the best players in the Premier League, for me, on his day. So, he will definitely be a huge signing for Villa if Steven Gerrard was able to get him.”

Conor Gallagher could prosper at Villa Park

Gallagher has been valued at a steep price of £ 50 million. However, if Villa succeeds in signing him, it would be huge for Steven Gerrard.

He showed his brilliance in a Crystal Palace shirt last season. Those performances even earned him a call-up from the national team.

In the 34 games that he played at Selhurst Park, he scored eight goals and provided three assists.

He is exceptionally dynamic and his ‘box-to-box presence’ was a menace to elite teams in the Premier League.

Such playing style has earned him comparison to Gerrard during his playing days at Liverpool.

Moreover, the Villa coach is also said to be a fan of the player.

Villa has got themselves running in the transfer market this season. Moreover, if they could add Gallagher to their side, it would turn out to be gold for them.
