Fabrizio Romano provides update on Marcus Rashford

About Football Express UK

Reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently provided an update on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s future with the Premier League giants.

Marcus Rashford was undoubtedly the face and the star of Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s reign at the helm. He established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League. The England international recorded an impressive 21 goals and 15 assists across all competitions last term. While he recorded 22 goals and 12 assists in the 2109-20 season for the red devils. But it seems everything has gone downhill after the crucial penalty miss against Italy in the EURO 2020 final at the start of the season. He underwent surgery on his shoulder and was out for the first half of the season. He did come back and had an instant impact with goals off the bench but he has looked like a clone of his old self in recent times.

While the goals and assists have dried up but it looks like the hunger and desire have dried up too. It seems like Rashford has lost his ability to dribble. On top of that, he has played a bit-part role in recent weeks under Ralf Rangnick. Anthony Elanga has taken over the England winger’s place in starting lineup.

“He wants to continue at Manchester United”: Fabrizio Romano on Marcus Rashford

Talking to Que Golazo YouTube channel about the England winger’s future at the club, Fabrizio Romano said:

“He needs to clarify his position because he wants to play in the World Cup and he knows that he can’t continue like this he needs to be a regular starter and an important player for his club so he will have a discussion with Erik Ten Hag in the coming weeks. He wants to continue at Man United and that’s always been his priority but not this way, he wants to change the situation around him. So, if Man United and Erik Ten Hag will be able to guarantee him being a starter and an important player for us, he will be happy to stay.”

“If not, keep an eye on Marcus Rashford because he could be an opportunity on the market and one of the names to watch because he wants to play in the World Cup for England and he wants to be a regular starter,” he added.
