Bayern Munich‘s Thomas Muller has reportedly been linked with Everton. The 33-year-old recently revealed that no one from Bayern has spoken to him about a renewal.

The veteran midfielder’s contract expires in 2023.

Speaking to Bild, Muller said:

“No one has ever approached me from the club. So you have to see what the future will bring”

English clubs such as Everton and Newcastle United are said to be keeping tabs on the situation.

EVERTON WANT MULLER

Everton would love to have Muller in their midfield. With an attack that already boasts of the likes of Richalison and Dominic Calvert Lewin, the Merseyside club want the perfect supplier. And who better than the Raumdeuter?

The German international has the most assists in a single Bundesliga season as well as the most assists in Bundesliga history. He’s known to both score goals and provide assists and has racked up 224 goals and 238 assists since making his debut for the Bavarian side.

He could be the perfect player for Everton, a team that is currently struggling to score goals. His ability to find and attack space is something very few players possess. Also, the leadership qualities that Muller displays will hugely benefit the Toffees.

With new manager Frank Lampard joining the club, Everton will look to quickly bounce back. The Merseyside club is currently languishing at 16th in the table. The Toffees will want a player of his calibre to get out of this rut.

POSSIBILITIES OF A MOVE HAPPENING

Muller admitted a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window would be ‘surprising considering how well things are going in Germany.

When questioned about a potential move abroad, Muller responded saying:

“What appeals to me most is sporting success and football at the highest level”

“Anything is possible in football. But it would certainly be surprising given how well things are going for everyone involved (at Bayern)”

Although chances of the move happening look slim at the moment, we don’t rule anything out. Premier League fans would love to see the Raumdeuter in action at Goodison Park. Whether it will happen or not is a big question mark at the moment.
