Everton on the verge of signing Harry Winks

Harry Winks

On Wednesday night (22 June), Paul O Keefe announced on his personal Twitter account that Everton would sign Harry Winks for between £20 million and £25 million.
O Keefe, has significant ties to Tottenham. He went on to say that a deal for the Toffees to sign the 10-time England international is “quite advanced.”

Winks struggled for game time at Tottenham in recent seasons, finishing the 2021/22 season with just nine Premier League starts. He has been left on the bench by both Antonio Conte as well as Nuno. In addition, the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski and Bentancur has made it impossible for him to break into the first team.

Everton targeting Winks

The midfielder from Hemel Hempstead looks to leave Tottenham this summer after spending his whole professional career in North London. This is because Antonio Conte obviously does not like him.

If you exclude James Tarkowski, who is widely likely to join after his contract at Burnley officially expires on June 30, we’ve already seen a few players go, Frank Lampard of Everton hasn’t signed anyone.

Winks would be a good addition to the team, but we don’t really see him as a great performer who can move the team forwards.

There have been a few players who have left Everton. Thus now is the time they need players to join in. Winks will be a good addition to the side.

Although he’s had some successful moments at Tottenham, can anyone honestly recall a match from the past few years in which he was simply outstanding?

Winks will likely enter the starting lineup because of the poor condition of our midfield.
He is superior than what we now have, which is wonderful, but if this transaction costs £25 million, we will have every reason to believe that the club has been taken advantage of.

Everton needs more players more than ever.
