Everton identifies Wolves midfielder as a potential summer target

About Football Express UK

Everton have identified Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker as a potential target to sign this summer before the transfer window concludes.

The Toffees narrowly escaped relegation from under their teeth and did not seem in great shape despite having a new project. Frank Lampard took over as the new coach of the club and helped them avoid relegation last season during second-half.

However, the gaffer also lost his main man in the front line with Richarlison leaving for Tottenham Hotspur this summer. The Toffees have been putting efforts to build a squad to compete well in the coming season.

With a few days left before the transfer window concludes, Everton hope to sign a midfielder that they consider necessary.

Everton moving in for Dendoncker

Everton is currently in the midst of a pre-season tour to the US just like many other teams across Europe. However, the Lampard-managed side endured a huge blow after getting thrashed to MLS side Minnesota United earlier this week.

The gaffer was clearly left in distaste after losing 4-0 to the American club which seemed out of place. Moreover, the performance did not reflect well on the work the side put in on the training grounds.

Everton consider the need to strengthen the centre of the pitch and are in need of a quality midfielder. According to Italian Journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees are considering the possibility of moving in for Dendoncker this summer.

He said-

Everton want to sign an extra quality midfielder. Everton, ready to explore this move in the next weeks.

Contract with Wolves expires in 2023, with option for further season.

The Toffees are in serious need of a midfielder and could very well sign the Wolves’ ace in the coming days.
