Denmark will welcome Belgium at Parken Stadium on Thursday evening in the second group stage fixture of Europe 2020.
After Christian Eriksen’s heartbreaking scene on the pitch, Denmark lost their opener against Finland. And the Danish side can not afford to lose against tournament favourite Belgium to keep their hopes alive to qualify for the knock-out stage.
On the other hand, after winning 3-0 in the opener against Russia, Roberto Martínez’ are absolutely flying at the moment. And they will be looking to keep their winning run against the Red and Whites.
Denmark vs Belgium Preview:
Belgium have started their Euro 2020 campaign with an excellent display against Russia. And most importantly Romelu Lukaku is continuing to show his domestic form on the international stage. Kevin De Bruyne’s absence did not look like a big problem following Youri Tielemans performance on Saturday.
After coming on as a substitute Eden Hazard showed his class with a few good touches and turns. And Martínez will be hoping to have a full fit De Bruyne and Hazard before starting the knock-out stage.
However, defensively Belgium have a lot to ponder about. Unimaginative Russia lacked the cutting edge in the final third, which gave the ageing backline a comfortable night. But, against a decent side like Denmark, that problem could cost Martínez’s side.
Losing talisman Christian Eriksen will be a huge blow for Kasper Hjulmand’s side. And the defeat against Finland did not help the Danes at all.
Denmark will have to keep their hope of qualifying for the knock-out stage alive by beating mighty Belgium with a depleted squad. It will be an extremely hard task for Hjulmand’s side despite having the home advantage.

On the other hand, Kevin De Bruyne is expected to remain sidelined for this encounter despite making good progress from a facial fracture. And Timothy Castagne’s Euro 2020 campaign is over following a nasty clash during the Finland game.
