Mason Mount is expected to change his outfit colors from Blue to Red. The English Chelsea midfielder has only 18 months left in his contract. The Liverpool scouts have been keeping a close look at this midfielder since his contract with Chelsea is coming to an end.
Liverpool shows interest in Mason Mount
The January transfer window has already been quite hefty for Chelsea. New signings in the midfield such as Enzo Fernandez, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke have already been a part of the last month’s transfer window.
As per The Guardian.com‘s Jacob Steinberg last month reporting. There was “a growing prospect” of the Reds making an offer for him the coming summer.
As per Telegraph’s Mike McGrath (mcgrathmike), there has been no further progress on a new contract for the midfielder.
He added that some at Chelsea “are resigned to him not wanting to sign up to the project going forward”. This suggests that the 24-year old midfielder is currently looking for new opportunities. He is looking to move to some new side in order to carry on his club footballing career.
Mount was found at the bench during the Chelsea vs West Ham Premier League match.
Lack of game time and new signings
N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Denis Zakaria, Conor Gallagher, and Carney Chukwuemeka are currently the options for the Blues. Looking at Mason Mount’s performances it’s quite difficult to assume that he might get a chance ahead of them.
Liverpool on the other hand is going on a reassessment of their squad this summer. They are keenly looking to make some new signings for their team. And there isn’t much of a surprise that they are following up on Mason Mount.
Mount is known for his excellent work rate and attacking abilities and could be an amazing fit for this Liverpool squad.
