About Football Express UK

Chelsea has made their first piece of business this transfer windows as Dylan Williams joins them. The 18-year-old will make his move to the European Champions from Championship side Derby County.

The transfer became official after Dylan Williams posted about it on his social media accounts. Many news outlets including the Athletic have been reporting about Chelsea and their interest in the young left-back.

The Blues however has not yet officially confirmed the signing, though it will only be a matter of time. The details regarding the transfer fee are also not available. Dylan Williams is reported to directly join the U23 squad of Chelsea.

DYLAN WILLIAMS EXCITED ABOUT CHELSEA MOVE

While Chelsea is yet to officially confirm the transfer, Dylan Williams was not able to hold onto his emotions. The left-back took to Instagram to post about his move to the Blues.

“Wow. I am absolutely delighted to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the world.” -wrote Dylan on Instagram alongside a photo of him signing for Chelsea.

The 18-year-old also expressed his gratitude to his former club Derby County. “Thank you so much for everything the staff and players have done at Derby County. I cannot wait to get started at Chelsea.”

Dylan Williams has made 9 appearances in total for the Derby County senior squad. 8 of them have come in this season for a Derby side that is battling relegation.

BLUES LOOKING FOR MORE REINFORCEMENTS

While Chelsea completes the signing of Dylan Williams, the player will not feature directly for the senior side. According to sources, there are issues in the left-back role of the academy team of the Blues. Dylan will be used to help in fixing the issues in this area.

However, the senior team is also in need of reinforcement in the squad. Both the main choice left-wing backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell are having injuries. Chilwell will most likely not feature again for the remainder of the season and his replacement Marcus Alonso is the only other option.

Chelsea has been searching in the market to fix these issues, while also bringing in quality players in other positions. The Blues have been trying hard to call back loanee Emerson Palmieri from Lyon, but the French side is not ready to let him go.

Other players are being linked to the European Champions. With just a week more left for the transfer window to close, we could see more signings come to Stamford Bridge.
