Dusan Vlahovic waves goodbye, raising hopes for Arsenal

About Football Express UK

Arsenal and the clubs’ supporters could be happy with what looks like positive signs for them from Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian is the transfer priority for the Gunners as they look to bring him in the January transfer window.

The latest reason for optimism was the gesture of Dusan Vlahovic during Fiorentina’s game against Genoa. While people might be overthinking, but gesture by the striker could be a goodbye for his fans before the move to Arsenal.

Italian publication La Stampa (via Sport Witness) have added more fire to the rumours. They report that Arsenal has made a bid of £62million to Fiorentina for Dusan Vlahovic, which includes the player swap as well.

ARSENAL BOOSTED BY DUSAN VLAHOVIC WAVE

Arsenal is looking to add reinforcement to their squad in the January transfer window. The club has identified the centre-forward position as the key priority. The current options of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer, while Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is out of favour with manager Mikel Arteta.

Dusan Vlahovic is at the top of the priority list. Arsenal is even ready to break their club transfer record to bring him in. But the 21-year-old have been holding on with the decision, as he is waiting for the end of the season to assess his options.

It is in this scenario that Vlahovic made a goodbye gesture in the match against Genoa. Fiorentina won 6-0 against Genoa in the Seria A. The Serbian managed to net his 17th goal in the league this season. He waved his hand at the fans after scoring the goal and this has been picked up by the football Twitter.

Fans think that the “wave” is goodbye from Dusan Vlahovic to Fiorentina supporters, as he prepares to move to Arsenal. But this could all be nothing as it could even be an apology for missing a penalty earlier in the match.

GUNNERS DESPERATE TO ADD THE SERBIAN

While fans are debating over the meaning of the wave by Vlahovic, other reports suggest Arsenal have made a £62million bid for the player. The bid also includes Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan with Fiorentina.

However, Arsenal could be in for disappointment as Dusan Vlahovic thinks otherwise. The player is said to be looking to play in the Champions League next season. Arsenal cannot guarantee that at the moment and hence the Serbian is ready to wait till the summer to make a decision.

Apart from Arsenal, other clubs are also monitoring the development of Vlahovic. This includes the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Juventus. But the Gunners look to be the only team looking to push for a move in January.
