Destiny Udogie arrives in London for Spurs medical

Destiny Udogie

Left-back Destiny Udogie has reportedly arrived in London where he will undergo his medical for Tottenham Hotspur. The 19-year-old arrives from Udinese for an initial £15m fee. This fee may rise up to £20m with performance-related add-ons.

He is likely to remain at Udinese on loan for the 2022-23 but was absent from Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to AC Milan as he finishes his switch to Tottenham. Udogie has flown to the UK to have his medical done. He will soon return to Udinese after it is completed.

Udogie primarily plays as a left wing-back, which suits Conte’s typical 3-4-3 systems. He had five goals and three assists in thirty-five appearances for Udinese.

Destiny Udogie: Another part of Conte’s comprehensive rebuild

The Lilywhites have been very busy in the transfer market. Destiny Udogie is set to be their seventh signing, after recruiting key players in various positions. The Italian youngster follows Fraster Forster, Ivan Peresic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Djed Spence, and Clement Lenglet‘s arrival to White Hart Lane.

Spurs will reportedly focus on outgoings now. Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon have fallen behind Peresic and Ryan Sessegnon for the spot of the left-wing back. They are likely to leave.

Giovani Lo Celso has returned to Villereal on loan. While Tanguy Ndombele is in talks with Napoli over a loan move with an option to buy.

Four of Tottenham’s new players sat on the bench on Sunday’s London Derby when Tottenham drew to Chelsea 2-2. Lenglet missed out due to injury while Spence was dropped from the plethora of wing-back options available for Antonio Conte.

Conte and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel had a touchline tiff at the end of the London derby, causing the referee to give them both red cards. Thus, Antonio Conte is to receive a touchline ban when Spurs welcome Wolves on Saturday.
