Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Christian Eriksen from Brentford on a three-year deal with the Red Devils.
United on Friday announced one of their top priority signings this summer in the transfer window in Christian Eriksen. The midfielder will not be joining the pre-season tour and will instead work on his fitness as per reports.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag was insisting on this transfer and wanted to secure his services for the next season. Eriksen is set to bolster the midfield for the Mancunian side along with the likes of others in the squad.
Eriksen Joins Manchester United
United have finally got hold of Eriksen and now with his signing done, the club and fans seem very optimistic. Speaking on his move to the Theatre of Dreams, Eriksen said-
“Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started,”
“I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times, but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.”
United were working to secure the deal since June and have made the transfer possible ahead of the new season. The Old Trafford gaffer further wants to bolster his midfield with the likes of Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
Ten Hag could pair Eriksen up with de Jong if the transfer goes through with the Catalan giants. That said, the club has already made a great signing in Eriksen considering the sensational comeback he made last season.
The midfielder has experience in the English top-flight which could prove to be a vital aspect to compete for titles. Moreover, the manager is slowly rebuilding the squad which is developing into a top team for the next season.
Manchester United under the new manager and signings could have a shot at winning titles next season. However, only time will tell if they will be able to do so.
