Arsenal are set to welcome a new goalkeeper Matt Turner this summer as the club prepares for another signing.
Arsenal are on a roll in the transfer window making yet another signing this summer. The Gunners have reached an agreement with MLS club New England Revolution for Matt Turner.
The MLS club gave a farewell and the incoming Arsenal keeper showed a classy gesture for his new team. The new keeper refused to sign a Tottenham Hotspur shirt as the club happens to be the Gooners local rivals.
Turner set to compete with Ramsdale
Turner has vowed to push the Gunners keeper Aaron Ramsdale for the regular spot and aims to be the best. The new signing has made 18 appearances for the USA national team and has been performing at a great level.
Set to play as a second fiddle to Ramsdale, Turner has stated that he will not leave any stones unturned for the regular spot.
In an interview with SkySports, he issued a subtle warning to the main man at Emirates for the keeper’s position. He said-
“I’m coming in to push him and become the best goalkeeper I can become, while also making him the best goalkeeper he can become. That’s really my goal for it all.”
Arsenal’s serious business this summer has made them one of the favorites to look out for next season. Moreover, manager Mikel Arteta is looking to secure the transfer of Gabriel Jesus and also submitted a bid for Raphinha.
The reinforcements made by the club this summer look exciting with Matt Turner as the latest name on the list. Although Ramsdale will be the gaffer’s first choice, it remains to be seen if Turner really gives him a good run for the money.
