Chelsea’s Todd Boehly is aiming at £77m signing which could hurt Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is targeting to sign RB Leipzig’s star defender Josko Gvardiol for £77m and this could hurt Thomas Tuchel.

Reports have said that Thomas Tuchel are preparing a new bid to sign Josko Gvardiol. They have made up their mind that they want to bring him in next summer.

Why Thomas Tuchel could be an angry man

Ex- Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been a big fan of Josko Gvardiol. He had been following the Croatian defender for a long time and was willing to bring him last summer only.

Gvardiol and Tuchel had a couple of talks over the phone. He was trying to sign the defender since last summer, but unfortunately, nothing was final.

When Chelsea was looking to sign Joska Gvardiol, they had already signed Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly for a combined £104m, so they were not in any kind of emergency to sign the player. There were some major players who were leaving the club named Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Although it was looking as if it was impossible to bring in a replacement of Antonio Rudiger, now it’s looking perfect that Josko Gvardiol could be an ideal replacement.

Leipzig also did not have any interest in selling the 20-year-old and even turned down a £77m bid on transfer deadline day.

Todd Boehly is also becoming a big fan of Gvardiol. By looking at his performances at the World Cup, any defender will be proud of him. He has started all the games in the World Cup for Croatia keeping 2 clean sheets. He made an amazing last tackle to save a goal that could turn out to be a winning goal for Romelu Lukaku and Belgium. With that Croatia could have been out of the tournament.

Signing Gvardiol will be good for both Chelsea and the player, as he wants to play for Chelsea one day. Only with time, we will come to know.
