Leeds United goalscorer Mateo Joseph praised two Chelsea players after their FA Cup clash. He expressed that while he felt his team deserved the win at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s individual brilliance ultimately prevailed.

Joseph netted his debut goals for Leeds last night, sending the Shed End into jubilation on several occasions.

Yet, Chelsea demonstrated resilience in a challenging environment. Goals by Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Conor Gallagher secured their passage into the quarter-finals.

The assists for two goals were notably intriguing, originating from Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. They are not typically there with such contributions. Joseph lauded the duo post-game, hailing them as among the best in their positions.

What did Joseph say about the young Chelsea midfield duo?

Joseph said: “I think we deserved the win personally. We faced a really strong opponent. They bought a lot of world class players, Enzo and Caicedo, the best in their positions and I’m really happy for our performance here.”

The club’s substantial fees for the pair have invited significant media criticism, thus unfairly targeting them. This is particularly unjust for new Chelsea recruit Caicedo, who notably performed well in last Sunday’s EFL Cup final.

This trend continued last night, showcasing his ongoing improvement since the beginning of the season. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino suggested the possibility of resting one of the midfield duo, but currently lacks viable options due to fitness concerns. Hope the club will keep their momentum for the upcoming matches.
