Chelsea youngster creating havocs and garners attention of Pochettino

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Omari Hutchinson is demonstrating to Mauricio Pochettino his potential for Chelsea’s first-team. His impressive performances on loan at Ipswich Town have brought him attention. Thus, potentially jeopardizing the positions of two Chelsea players.

Before his loan to Ipswich Town last summer, Hutchinson had only participated in two senior matches. Despite being a prominent figure in Arsenal’s youth setup, his transfer to Chelsea was overshadowed by a wave of new signings orchestrated by co-owner Todd Boehly.

Now 20, Hutchinson is securing his spot in Pochettino’s plans with an impressive streak in the second tier. Over his past five games, he scored thrice and provided two assists, averaging a goal contribution every 48 minutes.

Capable of playing on the flanks or in attacking midfield, the young player has gradually earned a more prominent role under manager Kieran McKenna this tenure.

Chelsea should prioritize Hutchinson’s situation

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, reports that numerous international clubs are monitoring Hutchinson’s progress. And thus may consider making moves this summer. However, Pochettino might opt to give him opportunities in the senior squad given his recent performances.

This action could jeopardize the positions of Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk, both significant assets acquired by Chelsea in deals totaling £117 million combined.

However, neither player has managed to establish themselves as regular starters in Pochettino’s lineup this season. Mudryk has been contributing three goals and two assists in 19 Premier League matches. But has been under limitations with substitute appearances in recent weeks.
