Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has a plethora of issues to worry about in their next clash against Watford. This is sole because many Blues players are facing injuries.
The Blues have dropped key points both against Brentford and Manchester United. Whilst rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are just behind them, Chelsea will have to keep up the pace.
In their past 8 meetings, The Blues have won 7 matches against the Hornets. However this season Ranieri is looking to go all out especially against the big teams. This paid off against Manchester United but cost them against Liverpool.
Injury news for Chelsea, predicted line-up against Watford.
The Blues have an action-packed December with many games in their schedule.
Thomas Tuchel will have to make many changes as his side faces Watford. Thiago Silva has started every game since the international break. Tuchel can rest him and Trevoh Chalobah.
Azpilicueta, Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are likely to start against Watford. This is a good chance for Christensen to prove himself since he is looking for regular game time.
Ben Chilwell has a tear in his ACL and will miss out for at least six more weeks. The only alternative is to play Marcos Alonso as a wingback. Reece James will most definitely start as well.
Since this is not a match against a big team, Tuchel will not be forced to use N’golo Kante who is facing a knee injury. Ruben Loftus Cheek can play alongside Jorginho. Tuchel can also maybe play Ross Barkley in place of RLC. Ruben did not have a great game against United but is a key player for the Blues.
The front three for Chelsea can see a complete change. Lukaku played in the last ten minutes against Manchester United and there’s a huge chance he will find his way in the starting XI again.
Hudson Odoi and Ziyech were excellent in the match against Manchester United. Since The Blues will face West Ham next, Tuchel will rest both of them. Timo Werner will play as a winger in a much simpler role. This is likely to provide more confidence to Timo. Mason Mount has to start performing up to his mark again. Many people believe that the youngster has fallen off ever since the champions league final. Thomas will play him as an LW with Lukaku up front.
