Chelsea are very close to signing PSG center back Kimpembe. Chelsea have lost their first choice center backs in the Summer as Andres Christensen and Antonio Rudiger left the club. While Rudiger moved to Real Madrid, Christensen has moved towards their rivals Barcelona.
Chelsea are in a desperate situation without their center backs. The Blues are on a mission to bring in new defenders in the transfer window before the season begins next month. Chelsea have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli earlier. However they only have Silva and Koulibaly, Chelsea need at least one more center back to their squad.
Chelsea have targeted Kimpembe as their next target, PSG have set a price around 45M for the defender. Todd Boehly has been freely spending money on the market for Chelsea after the initial slow start. Chelsea got hold of Raheem Sterling and Koulibaly and have shown interests in several other players as well.
Tuchel excited over Raheem Sterling
Thomas Tuchel is exited over the new signing and said he was the “Number One Priority”.
“Sterling was the number one priority. And we are very excited and super happy that we could make it happen. I think he’s a big improvement to our squad and exactly what we were looking for in terms of age, experience and style of play. I’m super happy that he’s here.
We went for it. We could convince him very quickly. That’s the most important thing and then he was convinced he did everything, what was needed to do and we gave our very best to make it happen and he’s the perfect fit.”
Chelsea have the most underrated and underappreciated player in the Premier League in Sterling. Sterling would be looking to impress in his new colors.
