Todd Boehly hands Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel complete control of the transfers. Chelsea were taken over by Todd Boehly’s consortium from Roman Abramovich. Chelsea are on the dawn of a new era and they want Tuchel to lead them in their journey.
According to reports, the Chelsea transfers are under the full control of Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel will be working alongside sporting directors Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech who is the club’s technical and performance advisor. They will be leading the transfers however they will only be going after players Tuchel wants. Moreover, Chelsea are going to change their transfer style to a style taken by Manchester City and Liverpool. Both clubs give their control to the manager to deal with transfers and the player contracts.
Tuchel has a big responsibility in his hands however at the same time he has full control of a club for the first time. He has the opportunity to build the club in the way he wants it to and implement his vision on it.
What does it mean for Chelsea?
Chelsea will be under the control of Tuchel who will rebuild the club in the way he wants to. The Blues will have to get every player Tuchel wants and they won’t be able to deny him. Moreover, this would mean Chelsea are going to become either the biggest of clubs or the biggest of flops.
Chelsea have been targeting a couple of players in the form of Ousmane Dembele, and Matthijs de Ligt. If Tuchel wants these players, Chelsea cannot refuse him and they would be arriving at Stamford Bridge in the Summer.
Moreover, Chelsea are also dealing with the Romelu Lukaku‘s situation. Considering Lukaku and Tuchel does not have the best of relationships, It is likely the situation will go Tuchel’s way.
