Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Chelsea to make a bid for 21-year-old Fofana. The Italian journalist affirms Chelsea activity in the summer transfer window for Leicester City centre-back. Accordingly, the London giants had kept an eye on the young 21-year-old centre-back. The Blues were 3rd last season and 19 points below the champions. It seems that the London club have no intention to repeat last year’s mistakes. And furthermore, they have learned from their mistakes which can be seen in their transfer window activity. As, Sir Alex Ferguson says: “Attack wins you games, defence wins you titles.”

The 21-year-old French professional footballer Wesley Fofana is a Leicester City centre-back. Chelsea’s boss Thomas Tuchel certainly wants to strengthen Chelsea’s defensive line. Chelsea are not so far from signing the 21-year-old Frenchmen on a deal that could reach up to €100 million or £84.5m. Although, it still remains unclear whether or not Chelsea will really smash the transfer record for a young defender like Fofana. But the London club will make another move in the next few days, says Romano. The Blues are still in the transfer window for new players to strengthen their squad. And evidently, Fofana is among their main targets.
Italian transfer expert said,
“Chelsea will make a new bid for Wesley Fofana, They want to try again, they want to push again. The player is tempted by Chelsea and wants to join Chelsea. There are intermediaries as said earlier, and Chelsea are still in direct contact with the intermediaries. So work in progress with Chelsea [expected] to try again in the next days.”
The five-year contract extension was signed by Fofana just a few months ago. Which evidently puts Leicester city in the driving seat in the negotiations for the Frenchmen. However, they agreeably seek a high fee for the Leicester city centre-back player that Brendan Rodgers would not want to lose in the first place.
