Chelsea to consider giving Deivid Washington sufficient game time

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea is contemplating the departure of one of their first-team players. Either on loan or through a permanent deal, in the current transfer window. Striker Armando Broja has emerged as a potential candidate for an exit from the club. Since he appears to have not fully capitalized on the limited opportunities provided to establish himself this season.

Wolves have expressed interest in a loan arrangement. With the possibility of turning it into a permanent deal at the conclusion of the season.

Throughout this season, the academy graduate has encountered difficulty securing starting positions. Since, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has consistently favored starting Nicolas Jackson for the most of the time.

This is in spite of the Senegal international facing criticism this season for his on-field performances. With Jackson currently away representing his country at the African Cup of Nations, the potential departure of Broja could leave Chelsea with limited options in the striker position.

Chelsea puts lot of faith in Christopher Nkunku

Recent weeks have seen questions arise about the fitness of Christopher Nkunku. Thus, potentially paving the way for a significant opportunity for a young player within the Chelsea squad.

Deivid Washington frequently found himself on the reserve this season. He was even granted a Premier League appearance in his inaugural season with the club. Every time he has featured for the youth sides, he has showcased impressive performances. Thus, suggesting that it is only a matter of time before he gets another opportunity to impress for Chelsea.

In the upcoming weeks, there could be a genuine chance for Washington to demonstrate that he possesses the ability to compete at the top level and serve as a dependable backup for the remainder of the season.
