Palmeiras young player Estevão Willian has been garnering attention from Chelsea, Barcelona, and various other prominent European clubs.

As per reports from Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea is intensifying their efforts. Hence, they dispatched an official to Brazil to initiate negotiations for the 16-year-old’s transfer. The report also mentioned that the La Liga side has not taken any steps towards securing his services.

A confidential report in today’s Mundo Deportivo offers an alternative perspective on Barcelona’s intentions. That is regarding the player targeted by Chelsea.

Chelsea to face tough competition from Barcelona

Scouts from the Spanish club have meticulously monitored the winger’s performances with Brazil U17s and Palmeiras U20s. His notable contributions include four goals and two assists in five matches during La Copinha. La Copinha often captures the attention of scouts from elite clubs.

Chelsea is among the clubs eager to secure the signature of the Brazil U17 international. Meanwhile, the report asserts that they are prepared to submit a substantial bid for him. In the event of a deal, Estevão can only join the west London club after he reaches the age of 18 in April 2025.

Barcelona will compete with Mauricio Pochettino’s team and other contenders in the race to sign Estevão. Mundo Deportivo asserts that the Catalan club is adamant to pursue the teenager after obtaining approval from their board.

This development would undoubtedly pose a challenge to Chelsea strategy, even with their readiness to submit a substantial bid for Estevão.
