Chelsea star Charly Musonda attracting interest from Serie A

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Former Chelsea wonder-kid Charly Musonda is expected to leave the club for free at the end of this season as per the report in Goal

The 25-year-old joined the club back in 2012 from Anderlecht. The youngster spent most of his time out on loan since arriving at Stamford Bridge, making only seven appearances in all competitions and scoring a solitary goal.

According to the report, Musonda has rejected a contract extension with Chelsea and is expected to leave the club for free. Roma and Hellas Verona are showing interest in signing the Belgian in the summer, while his former club Real Betis are also monitoring the forward’s current situation.

The forward was thought to become a world-class player for the Blues and he was also compared with the former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard. But, things didn’t go according to the plan as injuries have restricted him from reaching his full potential.

And currently, at the age of 25. He has decided to leave Chelsea and find his future elsewhere in order to play regular first-team football.

Can Charly Musonda find his form away from Chelsea?

It is hard for any young players to break into the Blues’ starting Xl and play regularly. Chelsea have lofty ambitions and in order to match the lofty ambitions. The coaches tend to play with more established and experienced players. Given without results the coaches may come under the chopping block.

So, it is hard for any youngster to find his feet in the Blues’ first-team squad. Charly Musonda had to experience the same and without proper game time, his development was blocked.

Meanwhile, he went on loan to Betis, Celtic and Vitesse. But neither of those spells was a success for the forward. The injury that he suffered a few years back had jeopardized his football career. But, he fought back and is ready to go again.

Therefore, it will be a better decision to leave Chelsea and showcase his talent elsewhere. Roma or Hellas Verona could be a good destination. Meanwhile, Betis might also be a good place, given he enjoyed a productive stint with the Verdiblancos.
