Chelsea seems to be done with Mudryk and a transfer may be imminent


Mykhaylo Mudryk’s future at Chelsea is uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches. A well-informed source informed Football Insider that Mudryk has yet to fully satisfy Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Sources indicate that Pochettino and his coaching staff at Chelsea doubt Mudryk’s suitability for their system. Thus, citing concerns about his footballing intelligence, end product, and ability to link play effectively.

The Ukrainian international got the chance to only feature in nine of 25 Premier League matches under Pochettino this season. Furthermore, he has completed a full 90 minutes in just one out of his 25 matches under the Argentine manager.

Mudryk attracted loan interest from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window. However, Chelsea hesitated to let him leave due to their incapability to secure a suitable replacement.

Chelsea will let go of Mudryk in the summer transfer window

According to a reliable source, club officials at Stamford Bridge now consider summer move for Mudryk as a viable option. Since his arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, the winger has accumulated four goals and five assists in 42 total matches for Chelsea.

Chelsea reportedly paid £62 million upfront to Shakhtar Donetsk for Mudryk, with an additional £26.5 million contingent on meeting certain conditions.

Currently occupying the 10th position in the top-flight, Chelsea is gearing up for a League Cup final clash against Liverpool this Sunday, February 25th. Mudryk finds himself displaced in the Blues’ hierarchy by players such as Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer, and Noni Madueke.
