Hakimi Chelsea

According to reports, Premier League giants Chelsea are scouting Paris Saint-Germain right-back, Achraf Hakimi, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea look set for a very long summer transfer window. With a lot of star names leaving the club on a free transfer and a lot of new faces set to arrive at the club. New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly may also be looking to spend big in his first window as the club’s owner to get the fans on board.

Star centre-half Antonio Rudiger has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. While Andreas Christensen has an agreement with Barcelona on joining the club as a free agent. Left wing-back Marcos Alonso is also edging close to a return to his former side Barcelona. While club captain Cesar Azpilicueta has also been approached by Barcelona.

To add to all of the free-agent mess. Summer record signing Romelu Lukaku‘s future at the club is also up in the air. Inter Milan are willing to land the forward on a straight loan deal in the summer. Midfield duo Jorginho and N’Golo Kanté’s contracts are also up at the end of next term. Thomas Tuchel has identified Sevilla centre-half Jules Kounde and RB Leipzig centre-half Josko Gvardiol as the top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reece James set to leave Chelsea?

Reece James has undoubtedly been one of the best players for Chelsea this term. Despite missing a major chunk of the season due to injury. James still recorded an impressive six goals and ten assists in just 39 appearances across all competitions this term. (stats via Transfermarkt)

But reports earlier this year suggested that Real Madrid are ready to make a mega push for the Reece James in the upcoming transfer windows. But it seems like fellow Premier League giants and rivals Manchester City have also joined the race for James.

Chelsea are ready to open contract talks with the 22-year-old. But the club may already be readying for his exit. The club are lining up a move for Achraf Hakimi. Both Hakimi and James share very similar profiles. Just like James, Hakimi is also very versed going forward and has also played the majority of his minutes as the right wing-back. The Moroccon international has recorded four goals and six assists from 41 appearances this term. Hakimi could be the perfect replacement for Reece James at Chelsea.
