TEAMtalk reports Chelsea interest in acquiring Crysencio Summerville for the upcoming season. The Leeds United winger’s outstanding performances this season have garnered significant attention from clubs across Europe.

After starting in the Feyenoord youth setup, Summerville made the move to Leeds United in the summer of 2020. Within a year, he earned a spot in the English club’s first team and has been progressing impressively ever since.

Despite their relegation last season, Leeds United appear poised for a swift return to the English top flight, currently sitting second in the Championship. Should things proceed as expected, they will regain Premier League status next season. Meanwhile, Summerville has been instrumental in their success, boasting 25 goal contributions in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Summerville’s impressive form has attracted attention from top clubs, including Chelsea, who have been monitoring him closely. In their recent FA Cup clash against Leeds United, the 22-year-old, though not fully fit, made a cameo appearance off the bench.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa all keen on acquiring Summerville

Despite uncertainty surrounding Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea due to recent poor results, the club is actively planning for the summer transfer window. Summerville features prominently on their wishlist, with the 22-year-old’s current impressive form catching the eye of the Blues’ scouting team. Furthermore, his youth aligns with Chelsea’s preference for signing players who can contribute over the long term.

Liverpool also harbor a longstanding interest in Summerville, which they might revisit in the summer amid anticipated squad overhauls under a new manager. Given the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future, the 22-year-old could potentially serve as his long-term successor.

Aston Villa is also pursuing Summerville’s signature. Despite Unai Emery’s impressive work, additional reinforcements are needed for them to compete at the highest level. And Summerville would undoubtedly strengthen their attack. While Chelsea, Liverpool, and Aston Villa all express interest, Leeds holds the negotiating advantage with Summerville’s contract extending until 2026.
