Chelsea needs more additions as more than five players pushing for an exit

About Football Express UK

Chelsea have had a difficult period in the last couple of months. Several important players have left the club in the transfer window. Romelu Lukaku moved back to Inter Milan on loan after failing to make a mark in his second debut for the club. Whereas Andres Christensen and Antonio Rudiger left the club to move towards Spanish Giants Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Chelsea had a slow start to the transfer window as they took their time to get their first signing. However, their first signing came in the form of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. They made their second signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli to reinforce their defense.

Although both these players are top players in their own right, Chelsea needs couple more signings to be competitive for the Summer which Thomas Tuchel said after their loss against Arsenal in the preseason.

“I think we deserved to lose – which is fair enough – because we were simply not good enough. We were absolutely not competitive. The worrying part is the level of commitment, physically and mentally, for this match was not the same, it was far higher for Arsenal than us. We can argue they played with I think their strongest line-up; they’ve had now together several weeks and for more than one year. They’ve strengthened their line-up, played the same structure, and this is the line-up they’ll try to start Premier League games. It was not our strongest line-up and this is part of an explanation, but only a little part. The other part is worrying.”

Tuchel set for more loss

Tuchel is set to lose Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, and Christian Pulisic as they are considering moving away.

Azpilicuetta and Alonso are looking to move to Camp Nou, Although Tuchel has blocked the former from leaving.

Ziyech is looking to move towards AC Milan or Manchester United as he has not achieved enough game time under Thomas Tuchel.

Timo Werner is open to moving away from Chelsea as he said in his last interview. Tuchel challenged Werner to find a spot in the team.

Pulisic has not had the best of times in recent times as he has been out due to injury. At the same time, he has not been able to get consistent game time.
