Pressure is piling up on Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino. Since, The Blues prepare to defend their place in The FA Cup and progress to the next round tomorrow night.

Chelsea under Pochettino faces Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening. Thus, presenting a tough challenge against a team in excellent form currently placed second in The Championship.

This follows Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool in The League Cup Final on Sunday afternoon.

Why is the Chelsea manager is in a very tight situation?

Winning the League Cup Final might have kept things calm. But since Chelsea lost, Pochettino is once again under tremendous pressure to make a mark in the upcoming matches.

As per journalist Simon Phillips on his Substack today, Chelsea are actively preparing a shortlist of managers, including four names. That is in case they decide to sack Pochettino soon.

Ruben Amorim from Sporting, Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton, Michel from Girona, and Hansi Flick are all potential candidates for Chelsea if they decide to replace Pochettino soon.

Chelsea is struggling in the league with their inconsistent performances throughout the season. A string of injuries as well as underperforming players is one of their major reasons for downfall. Now that the EFL is out of picture, they need to focus on the FA Cup at the moment. Meanwhile, the Blues manager also needs to prove his position with some impressive results as his job is in jeopardy. Hope they will bounce back.
