Chelsea may consider Thomas Frank to replace Pochettino next term

Wright Chelsea's Potter

TEAMtalk reports Chelsea shows interest in Thomas Frank as they search for a manager midway through the 2023/24 season. Hence, if Mauricio Pochettino fails to improve results, they may consider approaching the 50-year-old Brentford head coach.

Thomas Frank, considered one of the Premier League’s most underrated managers, gained prominence after joining Brentford in 2018. Within three years, he orchestrated the club’s ascent to the Premier League.

Under the 50-year-old’s guidance, Brentford has experienced a meteoric rise, establishing themselves as Premier League regulars. Despite challenges this season, they aim to secure their Premier League status.

Frank’s achievements at Brentford have attracted attention from top clubs. Last year, he was heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur before they appointed Ange Postecoglou. Chelsea could be his next destination.

Potential candidates who may replace the current Chelsea manager next season

After Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter left in the 2022/23 season, Chelsea, under the leadership of Todd Boehly, appointed Mauricio Pochettino as head coach. Despite reaching the EFL Cup final, Pochettino has struggled to revitalize the team.

Recent reports have suggested Pochettino’s position is stable, though uncertainties persist. Chelsea remains open to options, with Roberto De Zerbi among candidates. Thomas Frank is also a viable target for the Blues.

While Thomas Frank isn’t a top target, Ruben Amorim and De Zerbi are desireable choices to replace Pochettino at Chelsea. However, Frank’s position in the pecking order could change as Chelsea continues their search for a new manager.
