Mauricio Pochettino mentions Chelsea now has three forward options after allowing Armando Broja to depart without securing a replacement. The Albanian international has joined Fulham on loan until the season’s end.

Nicolas Jackson, recently returning from the Africa Cup of Nations after Senegal’s exit, has been Chelsea sole recognized center-forward option. That is for a significant part of the season, tallying eight goals.

Christopher Nkunku, renowned for his goal-scoring prowess at RB Leipzig, endured a four-month absence at the beginning of the season due to a knee injury. Additionally, he faced a hip problem that affected him in January and thus stayed out of Chelsea lineup.

In a press conference before Saturday’s clash with Wolves, Pochettino identified Deivid Washington as another potential option. The 18-year-old, secured from Santos in a £17.2 million deal last summer, has made only two senior appearances this season for Chelsea.

What did Chelsea manager Pochettino say about Broja and others?

When questioned about Chelsea allowing Broja to leave, Pochettino stated, “It is a very good opportunity for him to play maybe more. It’s a good move for him, and he can take the opportunity to play more.”

“It is important to recover Christoph [Nkunku] and it is important for Nico Jackson to arrive. Also, sometimes we forget, but Deivid Washington is here with us. The options we have up front are enough.”

Jackson was anticipated to return to England before Chelsea match against Liverpool on Wednesday. However, Senegal denied players the ability to fly back to their clubs the day before the game.

The ex-Villarreal player returned to Chelsea training on Friday. And Pochettino is optimistic that he can be included in the squad for the Wolves match.
