Chelsea to get a new striker after Lukaku and Werner injuries?

About Football Express UK

Chelsea are currently top of the table after defeating Newcastle in the league. The majority of their goals come from their defence. This proves to be a worry for Thomas Tuchel as the club is heavily reliant on Lukaku for scoring.

According to The Express , Thomas Tuchel has requested the board to sign a striker in January. He wants to provide competition to Timo Werner and Lukaku.

Chelsea have a lot of options as they wait for January.

Dusan Vlahovic

The Serbian International is on the radar of many clubs. He is linked to Chelsea , Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs. In 2020/21 ,Vlahovic had 23 goals and assists in 40 appearances.

Currently he has 8 goals and assists in 11 appearances. He has denied a contract renewal and will have to make a wise choice.

Erling Haaland

Chelsea will not be the only club looking to sign him as he is arguably the best youngster currently.

In the previous season , Haaland had 53 goals and assists in 41 appearances in all competitions. He came second to Lewandowski in the league and 5th in the European golden boot rankings.

In the Champions League Haaland won the golden boot after scoring 8 goals in 10 games.

Even as of now , Erling Haaland has 17 goals and assists in 10 games in all competitions.

Armando Broja

The Blues have inserted a buyback clause for Broja. Armando has earned regular playing time for Southampton and has provided good performances.

The Chelsea academy player is just 20 years old and won’t take time to adapt to the Premier League. He is considered a long-term option and the board might bring him.

Altogether it is certain that Chelsea will try to sign a striker because of their lack of options.
Lukaku has not scored since September and Timo Werner is still inconsistent in terms of goalscoring.
