Chelsea legend Petr Cech pleased to see Chelsea players “Stepping Up”. The Former Arsenal and Chelsea Goalkeeper was impressed by the Blues’ win over newly-promoted Brentford FC last weekend. Chelsea legend Petr Cech named Three players that he thinks has stepped up for the First team, following the International Break.
Edouard Mendy’s resilience between the Goalposts and several important saves has ensured Chelsea’s way back to the top of the Premier League table. Left-back Ben Chilwell scored the winner for Chelsea as Brentford slip down to 9th in the points table.
England International Ben Chilwell scored only his 5th goal for Chelsea in 29 appearances. His goal came in the ending minutes of the First half with a strong volley finding the Top left side of the Goal. The Left Back’s late First half goal got the London outfit two points ahead of Liverpool.

The Defending UEFA Champions League winners have just lost one match this season in the Premier League. They lost to Manchester City during the replay of the 2020/21 Champions league Final as City got the better of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by 1-0. Brentford had a decent start to their Premier League campaign as they remain in the top 10 with 12 points.
Chelsea was missing both of their Centre-backs Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva. They were replaced by Malang Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah with Ruben Loftus Cheek also getting some game time. Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner will join Christian Pulisic in the Injury list this season, it will be interesting to see how Thomas Tuchel handles the Table toppers.
“When you come back from the Internationals, you always have a lot of question marks over what state the players will come back in. You don’t have time to prepare and obviously we had a difficult game at Brentford. For 70 minutes we were really in charge and it was really nice to see other players coming in- you had Malang, Trevoh and Ruben starting. They were the players who trained the two weeks while everybody else was travelling and playing for their National team.
