Chelsea can use Leeds’ interest in Kenedy to find a suitable replacement for Eden Hazard. The Blues have discontinued their search for Chilwell’s replacement and as a result, Robert is back with his old club. The former Flamengo loanee is the only backup option left alongside Lewis Hall.
Hence as per the Telegraph, Chelsea has turned down Leeds enquiry into Kenedy but this is only a short term solution.
Thomas Tuchel has stated his comments on the club’s injury situation a month ago
” We cannot say Kenedy is the solution. He can be the solution but the situation has not changed. We have long-term injuries at wing-back and we suffered a lot,” manager Thomas Tuchel clarified earlier this month.
Nothing has changed but it needs to make sense, to be possible, make sense on a high level and also in the quality and personality. We have a look into the market, nothing has changed. We have all options, also the option to say no.”
Chelsea can take advantage of the situation after things get back to normal. The Blues can easily pay an adequate or rather a huge amount of money for Leeds star Raphinha. They can also look to offload Kenedy because Leeds can use his services as well.
How can the Kenedy- Raphinha transfer saga help Chelsea?
Many pundits and football fans have criticised Chelsea for their underperforming attack. This is true because of many factors. At first, the club lacked the end product from the strikers because Timo is still finding his form whereas Lukaku is struggling.
However, now things have changed and The Blues need more offensive threats to complete their attack. Raphinha can come very handy in this situation for Chelsea with the club looking to sell Kenedy to Leeds in the future.
Raphinha is an excellent dribbler of the ball and possesses the ability to beat defenders easily. He is not only great in creating chances but is also Leeds top scorer as of now.
The Brazilian has scored 8 goals and has 2 assists in 18 appearances for Leeds.
