Chelsea interested in Neymar

Neymar

Chelsea are looking at Neymar as a forward. The forward for Paris Saint-Germain is said to be considering quitting the club this summer.

The 30-year-contract old’s at Parc des Princes has been automatically extended until the summer of 2027. Although, he remains heavily linked with a move away.

The PSG administration is rumored to be poised to cut relations with Neymar, whose 2021-22 season was marred by injuries and fan dissatisfaction, as he was frequently the focus of shouts and jeers from his own fans.

However, Neymar is said to have had little desire to leave the Ligue 1 winners. However, only Newcastle United can pay a transfer fee and his exorbitant earnings.

With the former Barcelona star refusing to join St James’ Park, PSG appeared to be poised to keep Neymar for at least another season. According to ESPN, Neymar is becoming more receptive to leaving the capital club after knowing of the club’s attitude. This is as Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to orchestrate an exit for the striker.

Chelsea linked to Neymar

According to the report, communication has been made with Chelsea over a potential blockbuster move. This is as new owner Todd Boehly seeks to make a show of intent in the transfer market. Pini Zahavi, Neymar’s agent, is looking for clubs that can afford his client. Although, Chelsea is one of just two or three teams who might welcome him.

The ex-Santos star makes €43 million (£37.1 million) each year at the Parc des Princes. This minus bonuses and PSG would allegedly require a £190 million transfer price to authorize a deal.

Nonetheless, Thiago Silva, Neymar’s Brazilian colleague, feels the Blues should go all out to get his compatriot, telling reporters:

“He [Neymar] must travel to Chelsea. If that happens, it will be the finest thing that could happen. I hope that happens, but I don’t know anything about it.”

Neymar only had 28 games in all events last season due to injuries. But he still scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Last season, the Brazil international earned his fourth top-flight trophy with Les Parisiens, adding to his three Coupe de France titles, two Coupe de la Ligue titles, and three Trophee des Champions triumphs over the previous five years.

Neymar has a century of goals and 60 assists in 144 appearances for PSG since becoming the world’s most expensive player, but he is not Thomas Tuchel‘s lone offensive aim.
