Chelsea injury update ahead of important clash against Manchester United

About Football Express UK

The Chelsea squad is looking quite strong again as two-star defenders return to training on Wednesday ahead of the clash against Manchester United in the Premier League.

The blues have had a lot of injury problems this term. Thomas Tuchel has rarely had his side at full strength this term. The filing start to the season was probably the only time the manager had his full-length squad at his disposal. While the club are enjoying a very successful season till now. But the blues have been pretty inconsistent at times too due to the injuries.

English left-back Ben Chilwell picked up an ACL injury earlier this season and is ruled out for the rest of the season. While Mateo Kovacic has also had his fair share of injury layoffs this term. Romelu Lukaku also started the season on a high but has not quite looked like his old self after the ankle injury he suffered earlier this season.

Thomas Tuchel was once again forced to make rotations in his starting lineup due to injury problems to star players. Both Reece James and Antonio Rüdiger missed the London derby due to injury layoffs. While Andreas Christensen missed the clash due to illness.

But the Chelsea backline looks quite strong again as both Reece James and Antonio Rüdiger were pictured back in training on the club’s official website. Thomas Tuchel will be hoping that both his star defenders will be ready to feature from the start against Manchester United. The blues will be certainly hoping that they can further increase their hold onto 3rd position in the league table with a win over Manchester United.

Manchester United set to be without five first-team players

While the Chelsea are looking quite strong again with key players returning to training. Manchester United looks set to be without five first-team players ahead of the Chelsea clash. Edison Cavani looks set to be out yet again due to injury.
