Chelsea ease past Leicester city with 3-0 victory

League leaders Chelsea made another solid step as they defeated Leicester City. The Blues returned to the Premier League after the international break comfortably as they won 3-0 away from home.

Antonio Rudiger, Ngolo Kante and Christian Pulisic all found back of the net for Chelsea. Leicester on the other hand was very silent as they rarely troubled the visitors.

The victory meant that Chelsea will remain at top of the Premier League with 29 points. However, Leicester continues their inconsistent start to the season as remains 12thin the table.

The home side made two changes to the team that drew with Leeds United. Ricardo Pereira and Youri Tielemans both were unavailable due to injuries. Marc Albrighton and Daniel Amartey started for the Foxes as they switched to a three at the back system.

Chelsea made their regular rotation to the sides. Trevoh Chalobah was in the starting lineup replacing Andreas Christensen in the defence. Meanwhile, Ross Barkley was replaced by Mason Mount, who returned after his dental surgery.

LEICESTER CITY 0 – 3 CHELSEA: POST-MATCH ANALYSIS

It was another routine victory for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea as they dominated the proceedings. They quickly took the lead when an excellent corner kick from Ben Chilwell was headed in by Rudiger.

The lead was doubled in the 28th minute by former Leicester player Kante. His left-footed shot from outside the box went past keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The final goal of the match came through the combination of two players who came as substitutes. Hakim Ziyech neatly put the ball to Christian Pulisic, who put the ball in the back of the net. Leicester could hardly create any big chances as Chelsea easily won the match 3-0.

WHAT NEXT?

Leicester City will be concerned with the inconsistent showing the team is having. However, injury to multiple key players is a factor and they will be hoping to bounce back in the Europa League match midweek against Legia Warsaw. The Foxes need a victory to have a chance of qualifying to the next stage.

The club will be back in Premier League action next weekend when they face Watford at home. As for Chelsea, they will face Juventus in their Champions League group stage match. They will then host Manchester United at home in their next Premier League match.
