Chelsea considering to sign UCL winning manager to replace Pochettino

Journalist Felix Johnston has now given an update on what could happen in the managerial merry-go round that is currently surrounding Chelsea.

He took to Twitter to state that there are two clear favourites for the job if it becomes available again, with one of them already having the honour of the Champions League under his belt.

Reports are beginning to spread that Mauricio Pochettino’s time at the club could be about to come to an end. Some supporters seem to have had enough of what they are seeing.

Supporters who attend Stamford Bridge looked to make their feelings known. This was during the embarrasing home defeat to Wolves at the weekend.

However, reports claimed that an immediate sacking of Pochettino isn’t gonna happen yet. However, there have been reports that some chiefs at the club have been sounding out potential replacements.

Reports of yesterday claim that Xabi Alonso was one figure who got admiration from them. However it does feel as if that will be difficult to pull off when the Liverpool job becomes available.

Chelsea finding manager to replace Pochettino:

Johnston has now claimed that many believe that one of the favourites to take the job if it comes up would be former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick.

He said,

Hansi Flick & Michel Sanchez thought to be 2 of the favourites, but availability and manager plans would be assessed.”

Flick was one of the names who were considered for the role last summer. It was when the owners took their time before replacing Graham Potter, eventually deciding on Pochettino.

The German led Bayern Munich to Champions League glory back in 2020, with them beating Chelsea on the way that year.

Michel Sanchez is a name who has also impressed many this season, with his side Girona sitting in front of many of the big boys in La Liga.

They are only a couple of points behind Real Madrid right now, which is a sensational achievement based on the history of Spanish football.
