Koulibaly to Chelsea – Done Deal

The centre-back is on the verge of joining the bridge this summer ahead of the next season. Chelsea were in need of defenders for the next season, especially after the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The Blues were also pushing to complete a deal for Jules Koundé, however, the player only wants to join Barcelona. The void created after the exits in the defensive area has pushed manager Thomas Tuchel to look for alternatives.

Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti took to social media to address the exit of the 31-year-old. He said-

‘I prefer Koulibaly to be with us always, especially as he would be captain this season.

‘If he chooses to leave, we will never stop thanking him for all the help he has given us. If he wants to choose something else, we wish him all the best, because he deserves it.’

However, a move to Chelsea would be a big boost for the player as he is in great shape. The Blues have bolstered the centre-back position with his services, however, more signings need to be made.

Nathan Ake’s future is also up in the air and Chelsea is doing everything to cover their defensive area.
