Chelsea are set to get Nathan Ake back

About Football Express UK

Chelsea is reportedly in the lookout for Nathan Ake as they miss out on Matthijs de Ligt after Juventus rejected their bid.

Nathan Ake, a product of the Chelsea youth system

Nathan Ake joined the Chelsea youth system at the age of 15 from Feyenoord. He played for the first time for Chelsea as a substitute as a 17-year-old on 26th December 2012. He was chosen in the first 11 for Chelsea during the FA Cup of 2013 as a holding midfielder.

De Ligt though seems to be Tuchel’s primary defensive target. The Blues lost Rudiger to Madrid and the possible loss of Andreas Christensen to Barcelona. Also, possible talks of Marcos Alonso to Barcelona are going on.

Chelsea is said to face competition from the Bavarian football club for the 22-year-old who is said to be valued at around £68.9m.

The Blues hence are looking to turn their focus onto the Dutch center half and keeping tabs on Benjamin Pavard.

Chelsea will be hoping the 27-year-old can also help bring another one of their targets, Sterling from Man City.

Ake for Man City since 2020

Manchester City signed Ake for a reported fee of £41 million, on a five-year deal. Since then, the center-back has appeared in 24 Premier League matches and 8 Champions League matches scoring 3 in EPL and 1 goal in UCL.

The Dutch would look to get Chelsea to the top as they ended up third last season. Chelsea, though ended third, had a large gap of points with Liverpool who ended second.

Chelsea will need to sign more match-winners if they hope to put up a serious challenge to the league title. They have been linked with shock transfer news of Ronaldo as well as he looks to move away from his boyhood club.
