Chelsea are confident about the work permit of their new sign-in Andrey Santos. The 18-year-old defensive midfielder joined the club for a worth value of £18 million the last month on Jan 2023. Who is presently performing as a star for his country Brazil. At the under-20 South American Football Championship in Colombia.
Chelsea is Confident About Santos:
The Brazilian wonder kid Andrey Santos is one of Chelsea’s recent sign-ins. Has been performing exceptionally well in the 2023 under-20 CONMEBOL championship. Which is being held in Colombia. The kid till now has already scored 4 goals in 4 consecutive matches. His immense gameplay ability accompanied by his personal footballing skills are really a treat to watch. The way Santos has been playing in the international championship. Right from scoring goals at regular intervals for his nation to showcasing his footballing skills has made the Chelsea team management confident about him on getting the work permit for EPL.
Although most of the sign-in formalities were successful, Santos is still just a step behind in joining the Blues. The reason being not received a work permit to play in the EPL till now. However looking into his current International performances, Potter’s side is confident that Andrey would successfully be able to get the permit.
Actually, any Foreign player needs a definite number of government body endorsement points in order to obtain a work permit to play in the Premier League. Santos actually missed out by just one point in obtaining the work permit at the time when he joined Chelsea. However he has reapplied for it, and this time the Blues are confident that the Work Permit shall get confirmed.
Future Scope of Santos In The Blues :
The 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder used to play for Vasco Da Gama, a Brazilian club. At the age of 4 he was introduced to futsal in order to shred his weight. However, he slowly started falling in love with the game. He basically started his footballing career as a defender and later used to play as a midfielder for the club Vasco Da Gama youth academy.
On 6th March 2021 at the age of 16, he made his professional debut for Vasco Da Gama in the 85th minute of the game as a substitute. He further made his Serie B debut on 28th November 2021. In the 2022 season, Vasco Da Gama coach Ze Ricardo made him a part of the starting XI. Which further helped in shaping his career by giving it a boost. He has a total of 34 appearances for the Vasco Da Gama team in the Serie B League of Brazil. Where out of his 34 appearances he scored 8 goals.
He has also represented the Brazilian under-15 team in the 2019 South American U-15 Championship. As well as the Brazilian under-20 team in the CONMEBOL U-20 Championship, in 2023. Which is now being held in Colombia, where he has been performing exceptionally well, leading his side to rampant victories over opponent teams.
Chelsea team management is quite confident in him as an emerging talent who has the capability to leave a mark even in the EPL. As for Santos, it will be a grand opportunity to play in a big club. Alongside experienced players and among experienced team management. Which will further pave in the way for him to a bright and exciting career.
