The premier league giants have been busy revamping and improving their squads before the season starts.

Chelsea have been very active and have spent aggressively to fill up holes in their squad. After last year’s disappointing campaign, new manager Enzo Maresca has an enormous duty of raising Chelsea to their former glory in the premier league and have a good run in the european championship.

He has called for replacements and new signings in several positions in the squad.

Chelsea signings at a glance

One of their most notable signings has been Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. He was a key player for Leicester City last season and won the EFL championship, resulting in their promotion to the Premier league. He scored 12 times and provided 14 assists.Chelsea spend €35M on the left footed playmaker. Maresca will look to get the most out of him.

Marc Guiu, the Barcelona academy player was signed for €6M and is expected to add further depth in the central attacking position. He has already recieved praise for his performance against Wrexham. As stated by Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have no intention of loaning him out. Nicolas Jackson’s slight injury problem allowed the 18yo to start in the pre season fixture and he has not disappointed so far.

Chelsea have stuck to their policy of signing young talents. Omari Kellyman (18), Renato Veiga(20) and Caleb Wiley(19) were signed as well.

Tosin Adarabioyo was signed from Fulham on a free transfer. He is a tall centre back. Standing at 196m he will be able to neutralise aerial threats and contribute to the team’s defence greatly.

Hakim Ziyech has left Stamford Bridge on a permanent loan to Galatasaray. Romelu Lukaku and Kepa Arrizabalaga are in talks for potential swap deals with Napoli and Real Madrid respectively.

Manchester United signings so far:

Erik Ten Hag is busy in this transfer window as well. United’s transition phase seems to have reached it’s climax stages this year. The squad is nearly complete and new signings have further bolstered the team for the 2024-25 season.

Key signings include the most sought after young prospect, Lenny Yoro. The 18yo former Lille defender has joined the Red devils for a hefty amount of €70M. United look to strengthen their defence with the addition of this young and dynamic player.

United have also completed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The tall centre forward is another exciting signing for them. He has a good arsenal of dribbling skills which are surprising for a stiker of his stature. Standing at 193m he is quite agile. He will be able to add further depth to United’s attack.

United need departures in order to sign new players

Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are on the last year of their contracts. The former is being consistently pursued by West Ham. They are reportedly close to an agreement for the right-back.

The departure of Bissaka will enable United to move forward with Noussair Mazraoui deal. The English side interests the Bayern Munich right-back.

Matthijs de Ligt shares the same agents with Mazraoui and is open to talks with United as well.

Signing these players will require departures in the right-back and central-back positions.

United are looking to sign a midfielder amidst potential departure of Scott McTominay. West Ham look to return with a better offer for the Scottish after having their initial offer rejected. West ham have opened talks about signing Harry Maguire as well.
