Player ratings: After beating Arsenal quite comfortably by 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool has secured their place in the EFL Cup final for the first time since the 2015-2016 season. 

Diogo Jota was the player of the game for Jurgen Klopp’s side after scoring both goals in either side of both halves. Although the Gunners started the game brilliantly for the first 15 minutes, they failed to score goals and Liverpool showed their class afterwards. 

Liverpool player ratings against Arsenal:

Caoimhin Kelleher – 6.5/10 

The young keeper had to make a brilliant save early in the game from Alexandre Lacazette’s free-kick but apart from that, it was a comfortable night for the Irishman. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7.5/10 

The Englishman started the game on the back foot and struggled to defend against Gabriel Martinelli. But, he showed his creativity and assisted both goals for Diogo Jota. 

Joel Matip – 6/10

Struggled in the first half and looked a bit shaky with possession. Was substituted at the break. 

Virgil Van Dijk – 6.5/10

The Dutchman was extremely calm throughout the game and showed his quality in defending and in distribution. 

Andrew Robertson – 6.5/10 

After the first few minutes of the game, he played well and overall good performance from the Scotsman. 

Fabinho – 6.5/10 

Controlled the midfield and passing was absolutely flawless. 

Jordan Henderson – 6/10 

Wasn’t his best performance as he wasn’t present in the attack as much as Klopp would have hoped for. Buy, won the game comfortably. 

Curtis Jones – 6/10 

Wasn’t his best and needs to improve more in the upcoming games. 

Diogo Jota – 8/10 

Scored two great goals in the most crucial stages of the game. 

Roberto Firmino – 6/10

The Brazilian is struggling to showcase his and looked out of touch. 

Kaide Gordon – 5.5/10 

Wasn’t in the game and missed a glorious opportunity in the second half. 

Substitute:

Ibrahima Konate – 6/10 

Replaced Matip at the break and the opposition attack wasn’t there in the second half to put him under pressure. 

Takumi Minamino – 6/10

Could not make any impact on the game despite playing for half an hour. 

James Milner – 6/10 

Came in for Henderson to shut the game down and did his job well. 

Neco Williams – 6/10 

The youngster did not have much time to influence the game.
