Burnley 1-1 Manchester United: the Red Devils player ratings

Burnley vs Manchester United

Player ratings: Despite leading the game at the halftime mark, Manchester United failed to beat Burnley and had to settle for a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night in the Premier League.

The Red Devils displayed a similar sort of performance against the Clarets as they did last week against Middlesbrough in the F.A Cup. Dominating the first half and creating plenty of chances but failing to take advantage of those moments.

Paul Pogba gave the early lead to Ralf Rangnick’s side but Jay Rodriguez equalized the game for the hosts in the second half.

Following this result, Manchester United have now lost the fourth-placed and are currently sitting in fifth with 39 points in 23 games. West Ham is in fourth with 40 points and has played an extra game.

Manchester United player ratings against Burnley:

David De Gea – 6/10

It was a pretty comfortable first half for the Spaniard but made a great save in the second half and helped his side to come away with one point.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Defensively the Portuguese was good but going forward his final delivery wasn’t up to the mark.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

The Frenchman did well and scored an early goal but unfortunately, it was disallowed.

Harry Maguire – 5/10

The Englishman’s struggle continued as he displayed a disappointing performance and failed to lead his side in crucial moments of the game.

Luke Shaw – 6/10

Displayed a good first half but faded away in the second half. But, he could be at fault for the goal as he stayed quiet deep which kept Rodriguez onside.

Scott McTominay – 6/10

Showing much improved performances under Rangnick in the deep-lying defensive midfielder position. But, failed to control the tempo in the second half.

Paul Pogba – 6.5/10

Scored the opener in the first half and also showcased a good display in the first half. But, it was not good enough in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10

The same can be said about the Portuguese as he was influential in the first half but nowhere near good enough in the second half.

Jadon Sancho – 7/10

One of the best players on the pitch for the Red Devils and every good situation was created by the Englishman.

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Yet another poor performance, failed to contribute in the game and made a few bad decisions in the final third of the pitch.

Edinson Cavani – 5.5/10

Worked hard off the ball but didn’t have enough service to make his mark.

Substitute:

Cristiano Ronaldo – 5/10

Had a few half chances to find the winning goal but he failed to take advantage of those situations.

Jesse Lingard – 6/10

Didn’t have much time to impact the game.

Anthony Elanga – N/A

Came very late in the game and didn’t have enough time to influence the game.
