Bruno Fernandes had threatened to leave Manchester United amid Super League plans. The Portuguese Midfielder arrived at Old Trafford back in January 2020 Transfer window from Sporting Lisbon. Manchester United under the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer almost lost the Portuguese Starlet after just one year.
The Red Devils were among the 11 clubs that agreed to sign up for the Breakaway competition called the “European Super League”. Luckily for Manchester United, their Talismanic midfielder who changed the complexion of the team since his arrival, did not leave.
As reported by The Athletic, the 27-year-old Portuguese joined his club teammate Luke Shaw in opposing the club’s decision to be a part of the Super League. The duo later claimed that they were treated like “Children’s and Assets” by Manchester United CEO Ed Woodward.
