Bayern Munich looking to hijack Frenkie De Jong deal

Bayern Munich and Frenkie De Jong are reportedly hatching up a deal as United move is taking too long. Manchester United have had an agreement with Barcelona over De Jong for a fee around 65M plus addons. However United have not been able to convince De Jong for a move towards Old Trafford.

Frenkie De Jong wants to stay at Barcelona despite the rumors of a move away. In fact, De Jong has stated publicly he does not wish to move away and is happy at Barcelona. Moreover De Jong has travelled to USA along with the squad for the preseason.

Erik Ten Hag intends to keep pushing for De Jong as the midfielder is the priority signing for United this season. Although United have had disheartening reports, They still intend to continue the race.

Barcelona are under huge financial pressure as they have made a lot of dodgy decisions. Signing unwanted players at huge transfer rates have put a lot of strain on them. Moreover these players have been unable to give back their investment.

Barcelona want to sell De Jong

Barcelona wants to sell a couple of players that are “Extra” to their squad. They want to sell players to restructure their wage bill. One of the players on the list is Frenkie De Jong who is on ridiculously high wages. With United interested, Barcelona were quick to find an agreement.

However Manchester United have been unable to convince De Jong about their vision and he does not wish to move to Old Trafford, Although he does want to play under Ten Hag again. However De Jong is pursuing a move towards Munich as of the new reports. Bayern Munich are interested however they have a very sour relationship with Barcelona as of the moment due to the Lewandowski saga.
