Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert packed his bags and is to reach the UK after being excluded from the squad after the pre-season tour.

Steven Gerrard’s men are in the midst of pre-season and are looking to maintain consistency before the regular season kicks off. With a couple of matches to go before the Premier League begins, Gerrard will look to build a balanced squad.

However, it appears as though, Guilbert’s time with Villa in the pre-season seems to be done with. The defender has returned to the UK after a forgetful pre-season tour to Australia with the squad.

Villa defender left out from the Squad bus

Frederic Guilbert was left out from the squad bus and instead was on the club’s media bus few days ago. Moreover, the player was along with the media that did not feature in the tour to Perth, unlike the squad.

Guilbert only got few minutes in a win against Leeds and had a decent game but excluded in other matches. The defender was excluded from the 25-man squad against Brisbane Roar and Manchester United with a message sent to him.

The gaffer was asked why he did not include the defender in the Villa squad, to which he responded by saying-

“No problems, it just wasn’t their turn.”

Gerrard is clearly not impressed by the defender and could even loan him out this summer in the window. Moreover, Guilbert took to Twitter and posted a six-word message after being left out of the squad.

He tweeted-

Back to UK.  Thank you, Australia.

However, the treatment received by the player may seem unfair but the gaffer would want players who could fit well. Moreover, the defender has not added much to the Villa side and could see his exit happen this summer.
