Arsenal’s Starting XI against Leicester: Who’s it going to be?

Arsenal Team

Arsenal looks to continue their fine form, as Leicester City travels to the Emirates for Saturday’s clash. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is fortunate to have a fully fit squad, as he goes into secure three points against Brendon Rogers’ Leicester.

The Gunners started the season on fire when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 last Friday. However new signing Fabio Viera and full-backs Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney were all absent because of injury.

Reports say that the trio are back in training this week, and will probably take their places on the bench. Also included is Emile Smith-Rowe who had been out due to injuries recently. Fabio Viera is also set to make his Premier League debut.

Also, Arsenal would like to make a good impression on Leicester’s Youri Tielemans who has been a long-time target of the Gunners. This match could be vital in deciding the Belgian’s future.

Who makes Arsenal’s Starting XI?

With US International Matt Turner’s form doubtful and Bernd Leno‘s departure, Aaron Ramsdale’s position as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper has been cemented. His eye-catching distribution has made him rather important to Arteta’s style of play.

William Saliba had received the man-of-the-match award for his performance in his debut at Selhurst Park. He would be looking to continue establishing himself in the Premier League. His defensive partner is likely to be Gabriel Magalhaes who has been solid throughout his tenure at the Emirates.

New signing Oleksander Zinchenko will likely keep Tierney out from the left-back spot. Ben White performed admirably at right-back against Palace and is likely to keep this position, with his preferred centre-back role occupied.

Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey will likely continue their partnership at the heart of midfield. Ahead of them, captain Martin Odegaard takes the final spot in midfield. The Norwegian is likely hoping for a better performance after failing to deliver against Palace.

Gabriel Jesus was electric against Palace and in pre-season. Also, he has a good record against Leicester- five goals in seven games- and is likely to lead the line. He will be hoping to finally score his first competitive goal for the Gunners. At last, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will be flanking Jesus and hoping to get into the scoring charts themselves.

Thus the starting XI would be Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka, Saka, Martinelli, and Jesus. The likely formation would be a 4-3-3.
