Arsenal’s next target for the summer transfer window revealed

Arsenal are negotiating a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

This was reported by The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

He also stated that there has been contacting between the two clubs. However, no definite agreement could be reached yet.

Arsenal have fallen off the race to sign Lisandro Martinez. As Manchester United are looking very close to signing the talented defender from Ajax. Therefore, Ornstein has now said that Arsenal’s prime preference now is Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian international has the ability to play both at midfield and at left-back. Moreover, these same qualities are possessed by Martinez as well. These specific qualities could be utilized ably by Arsenal. Moreover, he could act as a cover or provide competition for those particular positions.

Zinchenko has the capability to start at either of the aforementioned positions.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City have been in contact over the transfer of Zinchenko. Moreover, the good news for Arsenal is that City have agreed to sell the defender.

The value quoted by City have not yet been met by the London club and the transfer is hanging on it presently.

Moreover, Arsenal has not yet agreed to the personal terms as well.

A host of reports suggest Zinchenko moving to Arsenal

According to the Athletic, Zinchenko wishes to rekindle his bonhomie with Arteta. However, no confirmation from Zinchenko’s side of his joining the London club has been known.

Again, the Evening Standard reported previously that both Arsenal and West Ham United have shown interest in the player, this summer.

Arteta is a huge fan of the defender and he will be targeting the player in this transfer window. This was further reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggested that Zinchenko could make the move out of City this season.
