Following a crucial victory against Brentford, Arsenal will be hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday night. 

The Gunners defeated the Bees by 2-1, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka put their names on the scoresheet before Christian Norgaard halved the deficit right at the death. 

On the other hand, the Wolves also enjoyed an important victory ahead of this encounter as they came away victorious against Leicester City by 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium. 

Meanwhile, the north London club won the games in the reverse fixture against Bruno Lage’s side by 1-0. Gabriel Magalhães scored the solitary goal of the game but Gabriel Martinelli was shown a controversial red card and the visitors had to play with 10 men for the majority of the second half. 

Wolverhampton Wanderers are enjoying a stellar campaign and they are showcasing one of the best performances defensively this term. They have only conceded 18 goals this season which is second-best in the league just behind Manchester City. 

While both sides are currently in the race for the top-four finish as Arsenal are currently sixth in the league with 42 points in 23 games. And Wolves are seventh in the table with 40 points in 24 games. Lage’s side are currently enjoying a great spell as they have managed to accumulate 12 points in the last few games. And the north Londoners have managed to earn 10 points in their last five games.

Arteta will have a full squad to choose from in this encounter after Gabriel Martinelli served his one-game suspension in the previous and he will be available for selection on Thursday. Takehiro Tomiyasu was on the bench against Brentford after recovering from injury and he could return to the starting eleven.
